1. Why choose the Colosso Implant System?
Because the Colosso System is based on simplicity, safety and clinical practicability in exchange of more accessible costs meeting the needs of the people’s financial reality.

2 . What, for example, characterizes the simplicity of the Colosso Implant System
It is characterized, for example, by the fact of existing only one key (the hexagonal of 1.2mm) to transport and fix the cicatrizers, transmucous, retention devices and fixing screws.

3. What makes a Colosso® Implant different from the others?
The fact that it counts with a practical, technical and scientific improvement compared to the ones offered in the implant business industries. It combines the latest implant dentistry tendencies, mentioned in literature as the most adequate to achieve the best results in the short, medium and long run. With 3 diameters (3.3mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm) and 7 lengths (7.0mm, 8.5mm, 10.0mm, 11.5mm, 13.0mm, 14.5mm and 16.0mm) the Colosso® implants have a total of 21 options to answer the needs of the implant dentists. With a unique surface (blasted with aluminum oxide and bathed with acid), they have a better anchoring in all kinds of bones. In the Colosso® implants, the internal hexagon of 1.5mm of depth allows a higher stability of the prosthetic pillar and a smaller loosening of its fixing screws.

4. I was already using the Emfils System, what is necessary to be done in order to start the implementation of a Colosso ?
For those who were already using the Emfils System, the only adaptation to be done in order to start working with the Colosso System is the Intermediary with an hexagon of 2.4mm (the short one for posterior implementations, where the availability in height is small, and the long one for implementations where the availability in height is bigger or between two anterior teeth). The drills of the Emfils System can still be applied in the implementations of the Colosso. However, you will note that three new lengths of implants have been created. These new lengths are not noted on the Emfils drills, but they correspond to the average point of the settings between 7.0mm and 10.0mm, between 10.0mm and 13.0mm, and between
13.0mm and 16.0mm (which is the tip of the drill). As for the Intermediaries of 2.0mm, I suggest you to remove them from the surgical box when performing the surgery so there is no chance of you getting confused. You can instruct your secretary to learn how to distinguish the Emfils Colosso Intermediaries by the rubber ring that the Colosso Intermediaries have.

5. I use another system. I already have some instruments. May I put a Colosso® implant?
To use a Colosso® System, in case you presently use any other system, it is necessary to make a few adaptations. The drills for the bone cutting may be the same, but the artificial alveolus for the implementation must continue with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the implant, with maximum 0.3mm. If that does not happen, you must purchase our last drill of each series: "Drill 32" (the last drill in the Emfils System for the placement of the implants of 3.3mm of diameter), "Drill 38" (the last for the one with 4.0mm) and "Drill 48" (the last for the one with 5.0mm). This way, you would be assuring the possibility of self-screwing the Emfils implants. The implementation of our cylinders in the bone starts with the plastic support that holds the implant in the internal packaging. When there is a resistance offered by the bone, the support must be removed with a movement of axial traction. The continuity of the implementation is performed with the installation of a “long Intermediary” or a “short Intermediary”, in order to replace the plastic support. The Intermediary is activated with a "long bi-digital Key" or a "short bi-digital Key", depending on each case. When the bi-digital strength is not enough to activate the key and finish the implementation, the bi-digital key is replaced and the Intermediary is activated by the "ratchet Key", that is able to maximize the strength. The implementation will be concluded with the screwing of the implant-lid (corresponding to the type and diameter of the implant used), with the "1.2 hexagonal Key". If you prefer to put the implant with the counter-angle, you will also need an "Adapter for the counter-angle". With the items in bold letters between quotation marks you will have the minimum necessary conditions to implant a Colosso.

6. Do you work with consignations? How does it work?
We have worked to achieve your expectations and solve any possible difficulties our clients might have. With this in mind, Emfils has started using the process of "Consignation" for the purchase of our implants, in order to allow small changes in the surgical plans of our users. However, there are some criteria for this concession to take place:

  1. The consignation will be allowed only for final purchases, exclusively for implants.
  2. The products acquired under consignation will not exceed 50% of your main purchase.
  3. The purchase under consignation won’t be part of the main purchase, because it will only be approved after the return of the material that has not been used.
  4. If the material is not returned after 7 (seven) days, counted after the receiving date, an invoice with the total amount will be automatically issued for the products sent under consignation.
  5. We will only accept as devolutions, the implants that have not been violated, together with a copy of the Invoice/Fiscal Note and the Form of Returned Products duly filled in, available on our website www.emfils.com.br, Menu Quality, Send Forms.
  6. We suggest you to have small stocks of diameters and heights of Colosso® implants that you use most frequently, such as 4 x 13 conventional ones. Such procedure will not only optimize the implementation but also helps decrease the operational costs considerably.
  7. It’s not possible to have a new consignation in case the client already has another one with an expired return date opened.

7. Is the Colosso® UCLA waxing pillar used for an implant of another system? Does it come with the proper screws?
The Colosso® System has several types of "waxing pillars UCLA type". One of the pillars is totally made of plastic and is intended for the manufacturing of temporary prosthesis or the melting of customized pillars or screwed prosthesis. In this case, it’s worth saying that the accuracy of the hexagon obtained through the melting can not be compared to the accuracy of the hexagon obtained through the milling. Another pillar, with a milled metallic termination obtained from an alloy of Co Cr, which provides a higher accuracy in the coupling of the pillar to the implant, besides helping with its melting in alternative alloys of NiCr type. A third pillar available in the Colosso System is totally calcinable and is intended for the manufacturing of the screwed prosthesis above the transmucous. All the pillars come with a stainless steel screw to be worked in laboratories and a titanium alloy for clinical use.

8. I am a teacher and teach regular courses. Could I have any sort of support from Emfils?
We are surely interested in supporting you with your courses. For this we have developed a few criteria, described below, in order to standardize the so called " Company/School Partnership ":

  1. 1. The Coordinator of the Course will send to the Company the schedule program and the relation with the students who will be part of it.
  2. The Coordinator will have a 20% discount for the purchases on his name.
  3. The Coordinator of the Course accepts to introduce in his program the topic “Presentation of the Colosso System Implant”, that will be taught by a teacher of the course or by a teacher indicated by the Company.
  4. Emfils will provide to the Course:
    • 1 surgical kit consigned to each 3 students (For the surgical modules)
    • 1 free jawbone to each 3 students
    • 1 replica of the Colosso implant consigned to each student
  5. The shipment of the consigned material and the free jawbone will be conditioned to a purchase by the Coordinator, with an average of 10 implants per student.
Example: For a group of 12 students, it will be necessary to buy 120 implants to receive 4 consigned surgical kits (these kits will be the responsibility of the coordinator of the course during the surgical module and must be sent back to our Company for revision), 6 free jawbones and 12 consigned replicas of the Colosso Implant.
  6. If the material under the responsibility of the Coordinator of the Course is not returned within the deadline established, we will consider the items as consumed materials and Emfils will automatically be authorized to issue a charging invoice with the total amount of the merchandise.
  7. Emfils will not have any responsibility for the reposition of worn out drills or for any lost surgical instruments.
  8. These criteria are valid for the year of 2008.

9. What would make me change the system I presently use for the Colosso® System?
If you are totally satisfied with the system of implants you have been using nowadays, you must not change it. Our system is based on simplicity, practicability, safety and an accessible investment. In case you are having difficulties to repass your costs with the implants to your patients with competitive prices, you may use our system of implants as an alternative to your cases. We are sure that by using it you will be convinced that the cost/benefit of our system is better. As if this was not enough, we must remind you that, specially for unitary repairs, the implant with long internal hexagon provides a higher stability for the prosthetic pillar and a lower loosening of the fixing screw of the pillar, assuring an optimization of your clinical productivity.

10. I opened a package but I haven’t used the implant. How can I perform the decontamination?
We do not recommend the reusing of implants that have been contaminated, because they lose the quality they receive with the industrial treatment. However, if you really need to use them, decontaminate them according to the instructions below:

  • With ultra-sound 5 (five) minutes in acetone.
  • Thoroughly wash it with bi-distilled water.
  • 5 (five) minutes in pure alcohol.
  • Thoroughly wash it with bi-distilled water.
  • Without ultra-sound 6 (six) hours in acetone.
  • Thoroughly wash it with bi-distilled water.
  • 6 (six) hours in pure alcohol.
  • Thoroughly wash it with bi-distilled water.
  • If there is contact with blood, have it washed in citric or nitric acid 2% for 5 (five) minutes before following the procedure above.
  • Note: after the decontamination, place them over plates of decontaminated Petri and sterilize them accordingly.

11. Are the Colosso® prosthetic components universal? Do they adapt to any other system?
The developing project of the Colosso® implants came to the conclusion that making them compatible to other Systems would restrict its evolution. So, the Colosso® System is not compatible to any other Implant System. However, if you use any other Implant System, it is possible, with a few minor alterations, to execute the implementation of a Colosso.

12. When do the Colosso® implants expire?
Two years after being sterilized.

13. Where can I find an accredited laboratory?
Emfils does not accredit specific laboratories, however we do offer opportunities to all labs that wish to get to know and execute works using our system of implants. In order to get acquainted with the System, Emfils has appointed several labs as being capable of working with their products, among them:

  • Laboratório Douglas Guidoni – Prótese Odontológica - Phone (15) 3321-4199
  • FERA – Laboratório de Prótese – Phone (11) 4013 - 4186

14. What are the diameters and lengths of the Colosso® implants?
The Colosso® implants are presented in 3 diameters (3.3mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm) and 7 lengths (7.0mm, 8.5mm, 10.0mm, 11.5mm, 13.0mm, 14.5mm and 16.0mm) with a total of 21 options to answer the needs of the implant dentists.

15. What is the type of titanium used in the Colosso®?
All the Colosso® implants are manufactured in pure titanium grade II from North America. The prosthetic pillars are made of titanium alloy.
